Shatavari Laddu Recipe














Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Serves: around 12 (depending on size of ball)

Serving size: 1/2 tsp. of Shatavari per laddu


Ingredients:

2 tbsp. ghee

1 cup plain sesame seeds

1 cup blanched almond slivers

6 pitted dates

2 tbsp. Shatavari powder

1/2 tsp. cardamom powder

1/4 tsp. nutmeg powder


*Optional 1/4 cup shredded coconut to roll laddu in*


Directions:

1. Warm ghee in a skillet with sesame seeds/almonds and toast until golden brown

2. Add Shatavari, cardamom & nutmeg powder cooking until fragrant (around 1 minute)

3. Cool to room temperature then add to food processor along with pitted dates

4. Begin to mix, then slowly add a small amount of water at a time until the mix begins to hold together

5. Form 1 inch balls, rolling gently into the palm of your hand

6. Leave laddus to set & store in air tight container


*Optional - roll laddu in shredded coconut until covered this is especially great for cooling down aggravated Pitta*
